Pushpanjali, an invocatory piece, where the dancer seeks the blessings of Lord Nataraja (the cosmic dancer), her Guru, the accompanying musicians, and the esteemed audience for a successful and auspicious performance. This is typically followed by a brief Shlokam, which sets a deeply spiritual and vibrant tone for the evening's repertoire.

  2. Sriman Narayana

    RagamBowliTalamAdiComposerTallapaka AnnamacharyaLanguageTelugu

This profound devotional composition is a beautiful prayer praising Lord Sriman Narayana, the supreme protector of the universe. The lyrics vividly describe His magnificent form, comparing His eyes and face to a blossoming lotus, and depict His movement upon the mighty eagle, Garuda. Through expressive storytelling (abhinaya), the dancer completely surrenders to His lotus feet, portraying absolute devotion, reverence, and grace.

  3. Varnam

The Varnam is the central and most demanding piece of the Arangetram, testing the dancer's stamina, rhythmic control, and emotional depth. This masterpiece praises Goddess Maha Tripura Sundari, the most beautiful in all three worlds and the merciful mother of the universe. The choreography intricately weaves rapid, complex footwork (jathis) with expressive acting (abhinaya). Pranavi brings to life the magnificent power and compassion of the Goddess, illustrating her divine grace and her fierce protection of her devotees.

  4. Jo Jo Achyutananda

This is a beloved and soothing lullaby addressed to the infant Lord Krishna. In this tender and affectionate piece, the dancer embodies Mother Yashoda, gently rocking the divine child to sleep. The lyrics sweetly recount Krishna's mischievous childhood exploits — such as stealing butter and charming the cowherd girls of Repalle — all while portraying the profound, universal love between a mother and her child.

  5. Kavadi Chindu

    RagamChenchuruttiTalamKanda Nadai Adi TalamComposerAnnamalai ReddiyarLanguageTamil

Kavadi Chindu is a vibrant, folk-inspired dance traditionally performed by devotees carrying the Kavadi (a decorated wooden arch) on a pilgrimage to worship Lord Muruga. The rhythmic and energetic footwork mimics the joyful, swaying gait of the pilgrims. The piece describes the magnificent beauty of Lord Muruga, his mount the peacock, and the deep, celebratory devotion of the pilgrims marching toward his hilltop temple.

  6. Thillana

    RagamMadhuvantiTalamAdiLanguageTamil

The Thillana is the scintillating rhythmic finale of the Bharatanatyam repertoire. Known for its fast-paced tempo, sculptural poses, and intricate footwork, this piece highlights the dancer's agility, joy, and technical precision. The dynamic sequences build to a grand crescendo, culminating in a brief lyrical verse dedicated to the presiding deity, leaving the audience energized and mesmerized.

  7. Mangalam

The performance concludes with the Mangalam, a solemn and heartfelt prayer of gratitude. The dancer offers thanks to the Divine, her Guru, the musicians, and the audience for supporting her journey. It is a humble ending where Pranavi seeks forgiveness for any shortcomings during the performance and prays for universal peace, prosperity, and auspiciousness.
